Clacton Beer Festival 2006 Review

Firstly, thank you to everyone who visited, supported, worked or just came along for a beer at the 11th Clacton Beer Festival.

Another record year was achieved for what was once the smallest CAMRA beer festival in the country.

More visitors, more beeer (hic!) and more cider. Oh, and on Thursday, more rain!

For those who like facts & figures, here they are:-

Visitors: 1428 (up about 200 on last year )

Real Ale: Total turnover 519 Galls. (up 15 Galls on 2005)

In real terms, that means 4152 pints of real ale was used over the 3½ days of the festival!

An emergency delivery was required on Saturday morning to avoid running out! (Thanks to Mighty Oak Brewery)

10 Ciders & Perries were drunk, over 300 pints!

Beer(s) of the Festival

There was no overall winner of this years Beer of the Festival, with lots of different beers receiving votes.
It just goes to show ALL our beers were first class!

A three way tie occured for first place:-

Railway Tavern Bladderwrack

Mersea Island Dark Mystery

Dark Star Spiced Wheat

The first beers to sellout were Houston Blonde Bombshell and Cairngorm Sheepshaggers Gold.
