22nd Colchester Real Ale & Cider Festival
Tuesday 29th May - Saturday 2nd June, 2007
Thank you to everyone who helped organise, worked at and visited the 22nd Colchester Real Ale & Cider Festival.
It has been another successful year for the Festival with just under 3,000 visitors over the course of the week, thanks no doubt to the good weather following a rather damp start on Monday & Tuesday.
More than 10,000 pints of Real Ale was used, with over 900 pints of Cider & Perry drunk.
The Belgian Beer Bar was kept extremely busy and the caterers had to get a bigger pig for the Hog Roast each day!
Both Thud & Blunder on Tuesday evening and the Ugly Dog Skiffle Band on Saturday evening proved popular.
Beer of the Festival, winning by a long way, was Pitfield's 1850 London Porter.
Winner of the over 5% catagory was, of course, Pitfield's 1850 London Porter
Joint winners of the under 5% catagory were Brandon's Rusty Bucket and Mighty Oak's Maldon Gold
Cider of the Festival was Biddenden.
Thanks to the Arts Centre and it's staff for putting up with us all for a week, all the brewers and publicans who supported the festival and ...
... See you in January for the new Colchester Winter Ale Festival.
