19th Colchester Beer Festival Report

Page 4 ... The Staff, The Drinkers and The Facts!
The Staff
No Beer Festival can take place without the dedication of it's staff.
It's worth noting, for those of you that didn't know, that CAMRA is run almost
entirely on volunteers. Only the few permanent staff at HQ in St Albans get
paid - everyone else does it for the love of beer, and for the friendships
that evolve.
I'd like to take the opportunity to give a mention to those that contributed
to this years festival. The unsung heroes that really make it work, tirelessly
serving pint after pint, handing out clean glasses, washing dirty ones, sweeping,
tapping and tasting. Without you, there'd be a whole lot of thirsty people
in Colchester!
Beans, Toss, Trev, Liz, David, Elizabeth, Steve, Brian, Mike, Roy, Harry,
Kevin, Nigel, Tosh, Heather, Bryan, Ann, Jayne, Grant, Chris, John, Maureen,
Frog, Derek, Mike, Doris, Jim, Oily, Doris, Keith, Claire, Chris, Jonathan,
Ian, Laddie, Oxo, Bert, Doris, Jo, Mark, Whinge, Pete, Chris, Andy, David,
Stuart, Pam, John, Kenny, Doris, Alan, Joke, Tweedy, Doris, Jules, Colin,
Chris, Lesley, Lorena, and of course, Big D...
To the many that we've missed off this list, our apologies.
Feel free to drop me a line and
I will gladly add you.
Even if you do or don't appear here, thank you for
your help and we hope that you will be as generous with your time next year.
By
the way, you may be asking, "Yeh, but who did what?".
Well, come and work at a festival and you'll realise it really doesn't matter.
From working on the door, to washing hundreds of glasses; from setting up
and testing the beer (someone’s got to do it!) to mopping up the results
of exploding casks, everyone played their part.
The Drinkers
Firstly, another big thankyou to all of you who came along to this years festival.
Hopefully,
you enjoyed yourself and the beer. We couldn't quite fix the weather this year,
so well done to those of you who braved the churchyard.
This years festival proved
to be as successful as previous years, and we hope the hard work showed.
If your
face appears below, I'm sorry, but you should have moved faster!!!
NOTE: If you would prefer not to have your picture shown, please let us know.
