A TedTed Production
On Saturday 10th April, 5 members met at North Station for the 10.03 train onto London. (Apologies for clashing with the football)
After making our way to East Putney, a pleasant stroll through some nice streets led us to the first pub, The Cat's Back, which was closed with no signs of life.
Five disappointed people then walked through a park to Putney High Street for the Whistle and Flute, a Fuller's pub.
With the large windows open, we had the first drink of the day, Chiswick Ale.
A two minute walk around the corner brought us to the Bricklayer's Arms, SW London's POTY a few times.
A good selection of Timothy Taylor beers plus a few guests and a very pleasant interior. Most had dark beer but I settled for Golden Best.
Another two minute walk and we arrived at The Dukes Head, a Youngs pub for a half of London Gold.
Next came The Half Moon, another Youngs pub. This one had a stage and many photos of people who had played music there.
Another short walk brought us to the Spencer Arms for a Black Sheep Bitter but at £3.50 a pint. The pub seemed to be in the process of being redecorated but to an insipid shade of green!
A number 22 bus for the journey across Putney Bridge to reach the Temperance. Sharps Doombar was the prefered drink, all served in jugs, which would haved pleased JT and Trevor. Previously, it had been a very smokey snooker hall where I went a few times many, many years ago.
We then walked along the New Kings Road to Parsons Green for the White Horse, which was very crowded inside and out. There were about 12 beers on, most settling for Acorn Old Moor Porter. Nigel and Steve finishing off with a Belgian beer.
Finally to Parsons Green Station to make our way back home.
